The Friends of Buckingham Primary School are a very active group of parents who support the school in lots of different ways. There are many fundraising events during the year and other opportunitues to support the school.  In addition to the fundraising activities we have established a Parents' Network to gather all the talents and skills of parents and carers at the school. The Friends Committee have made a real difference to the school and provide many additional resources that make the school such a rich and wonderful learning environment.

'FRIENDS' FUNDRAISING PROJECTS for 2010:   **  OUTDOOR CLASSROOM  &  OUTDOOR STAGING  **

BPS Spring Fair - SATURDAY 22nd MAY 2010.  The Friends of BPS would like to thank everyone who helped make the annual Spring Fair such a success and hope that all who came had a good time.  We raised the fantastic total of £4,187 and hope to be able to add to this with match funding arranged by some of our parents in liasion with their employers.  If you work for an employer who has a match funding scheme, and you helped at the Spring Fair, please contact Jane Butcher on janebutcher@hotmail.co.uk to see if you may be able to help raise even more funds

We are always looking for new members, new ideas or new suggestions for the Committee and any events you would like to see on the 'Friends' Calendar.  Contact us with any of your ideas! We hold an AGM each October where the current Chair and other key positions will stand down, to give someone else the opportunity to be involved in the Friends of BPS.

About the Friends....

We are a friendly group of parents, who meet to discuss the planning and organisation of Events throughout the year, in order to raise further funds for the school. These Events are fun for all pupils and teachers! The money raised is used within the school to further enhance the learning environment.  So, however much time you can spare, a little or a lot, you can help make a difference and everyone is most welcome. How the Friends have helped at BPS

* Donated £20,000 towards the cost of the All Weather Pitch *     * Paid £1600 towards the transformation of the Pond area *   * Paid for the Tyre Park in the KS1 Playground *   * Purchased several Benches for the playgrounds *   * Donated £24,000 towards the Performing Arts Room*   *Paid for two Pergolas within the school grounds *  * Paid £1575 for the Traversing Walls in the hall *   * Purchased the KS1 Climbing Equipment at a cost of £2000 *  

In total FRIENDS have raised and donated to the school over £62,000 in the last 5 years!

Company Match-Funding Schemes for Charity Fundraising.  We have been very lucky this year to have been supported by a number of companies, where their match-funding schemes have provided us over £1500 in additional funds for BPS.

Many of the schemes operate whereby they will match fund on a sliding scale depending on the type of event and the amount raised.
